Sun God Returns!

Yesterday was gooooooood.
I have mondays off from the shop; and got up a bit early so I would get to see the Diva before she had to leave for work. She was still kinda sorta wrestling with this cold thing she's had for about a week, and when I went in to give her a smooch she wasn't nearly dressed to the degree I expected. I joked around that she should just call off and spend the day at home resting and playing with me, and to my surprise she actually DID.
The weather was amazing (not that we went anywhere, but still .. i'll take amazing no matter what) and the critters were all mellow and happy to have both of us home. We goofed off the entire day; actually got to have some playtime that was WAY overdue. We kept trying to take a nap, but it never really worked out. I wasn't the least bit distressed about it though.
Later on in the evening I made a batch of Beignets that although they didn't specifically resemble the actual pictures you can find on the web, they tasted absolutely incredible. I only destroyed one kitchen tool in the making of them as well, and considering what COULD have happened that wasn't so bad. I'd never made them before, and they turned out pretty damn good, even if they weren't um .. square or triangle shaped or anything. And yes, I cleaned up the kitchen afterwards.
Took the dog outside and played with her a bit in the sunshine. She still looks like someone stole her snow when she goes out back, but I think she's getting over it, with all the other critters and birds and whatnot to point at once she got out there. She's made friends with this obnoxious little boston terrier that lives behind us, and the little wench got into the back yard the other day and the two of them were just romping all over the back yard. Wish boston terriers didn't look like little snuffly crackheads or I'd like it better probably.
Ah well. Had wished we could BOTH play hookey today, but she's back to work and I will be too in a couple of hours.
