On The Road With Gnomad, Day .. um .. 3? 4?

Spent the majority of the day being a delightedly lazy son of a bitch. Took a nap, fer chrissake. Woo hoo!
Had a terrific thunderstorm early this afternoon; lightning cracking through into the mountains just across from us.
We had originally planned to meet up with my ex and her girlfriend at some point tonight, and they called while I was knocked out cold. Can I just say how much I am diggin' these feather pillows? Ok? They put me in the most delightful coma state ever. The Diva apparently worked out plans with them, because by the time I woke up it was right about time to start getting ready to head over.
They'd decided we would bbq over at their place, then wander around the amusement park for a while after, providing the rain let up in time. We showered and got dressed, and by the time we were done it was time to go.
Drove out to their place, and D and I worked on the BBQ and cleaned the table on the deck while J and the Diva worked things out in the kitchen. J passed me out a bottle of some sort of Ass Whuppin' Ale to keep me busy while we worked; talking on the deck while she did residual cooking in the kitchen and the Diva had a glass of wine.
Finally the food was done and we kicked back on the deck, killed off a fair size grill full of really good pork ribs, salad, some kind of .. um .. squash thing and the ale and wine. Laughed a lot. Told stories of everything from when we were kids to when we met, how everything shook out in the interim, etc. Sat there till after dark laughing and talking. Never did make it to the park, but it was all good with me.
J brought out a warm blueberry pie which we promptly destroyed. When it finally got too cold to be out we made it into the house, and J and I did the dishes and cleaned everything up. They took a couple of pics before we took off, and J said she'd send along the jpgs once we got home. They played a video of D taken back last year when she was in a dance contest, that was pretty cool. She's really good.
We finally hit the road and rolled back to the hotel, stopping on the way to get some smokes .. and can I just mention here that a carton costs HALF of what it does in the land o' sleet? It makes me laugh out loud and want to cry, simultaneously. Actually, less than half, if I was gonna be brutally honest. *sigh*
Anyway, so back we are; the Diva is currently crashed out and I'm doing a bit of editing for a roleplaying board I work on, getting a piece ready to post. The window's open, breeze blowing in lightly, the lights of the city twinkling away like a wee java postcard. It's completely silent with the exception of the very muted tapping of keys on the laptop.
Life, peanuts, is good.
Tomorrow we head out to the tattoo shop in Denver that belongs to the woman I met downstairs yesterday; was supposed to get to her today because she said she'd be down all day, but by the time I ran down at three o'clock she had already packed up and gone. Called the shop before we left for J & D's to bbq and checked to make sure she'd be there tomorrow so I could stop by and talk to her a bit.
Then we hit Boulder and see what kinda trouble we can get into, I think.
That's the plan, anyway.
