A very good day. Dontcha know.

This has, overall, been a very fine day.
We will not dwell upon the fact that I had tried to catch a little lie-down last night around 10pm with the plan that I was going to get up in an hour (at 11) and have a bit of caffeine and a couple of cigarettes and then head in to the Snake Pit. The Diva came to bed shortly after I did; and an hour later the alarm went off. Well .. it was bothering her. So i turned it off. I hadn't planned for my eyes to close, at least not for more than a moment or two. I woke up at .. what? 5:30am? Something like that. Something .. um .. distressing like that.

I passed out and slept till somewhere around 8:30am or so .. got up just as the Diva was getting out of the shower. She took off for the library and I went out to grab a carton of smokes. Then I drove by the downtown library to pick up the two books I'd had on hold that had come in; then went out to the bookstore and picked up a couple of car mod magazines and a book by Laurell k Hamilton.

Came home and had a smoke; then was sitting watching tv when the wife unit called during her break at school and asked if I wanted to go out to the irish pub for dinner. I said sure, even though I was not that excited, having never been there. Finished the program (whatever the hell it was) that I was watching; then went outside and took advantage of the sun to clean out my car.

My obsession with tweaking/pimpin' it has reached critical mass proportions. I hauled out the garbage from the back, cleaned out the console in the middle, dumped cans and whatnot into the trunk. Finally threw away that old dead coffee maker that's been riding around in the back seat on the floor since it blew up in the back at the tattoo shop this spring. I didn't get a chance to wash the inside of the windows, but if the weather's still good tomorrow I'll do that then. It desperately needs to be vaccuumed. and detailed. S told me he has all the stuff to take care of that, so I'm gonna do it with him rather than pay a detailing place 60-80 bucks to vaccuum my damn car and wipe off the dashboard. What a racket! Then he and I will sit down and start making plans about upgrades. I'm thinking a stereo first? That couldn't hurt. We'll see. I'll call the junkyard/parts joint and see what they've got going on as far as stereos that will fit my car.

The Diva showed up and I changed my shirt and we went out to the pub. She suggested I order a black & tan and I liked it wayyyyy too much. Bad. Very bad.
I had the shepherd's pie and she had the fish and chips and a snort of glenlivet. We started with the corned beef and cabbage rolls which FUCKING KICKED ASS. Wee irish music played in the background; and it had an .. uh .. irishy-pub kind of feel to it, which I suppose was the idea.

It was a Saturday night. We were actually out, on a Saturday night, having dinner together. In a place that sold alcohol. And we had alcohol too. Will the wonders never cease?

She fell asleep snuggled up against my back while I read Tattoo Savage. heh. This has been a very fucking good day.
