.. thanks for all the hugs and feedback after my last bummed out entry. I lurves you guys, and you should know that.
Xmas morning, a friend who I totally forgot reads my journal and her husband showed up on our doorstep with bags of food with which to make Xmas dinner. Everything, seriously, down to a small tupperware container bearing a couple of eggs for the cake mix. And a pair of those socks for each of us with the little rubber bits on the bottom so you don't break your neck while you run around the house like an animal. They dropped off the food, gave us hugs, and then bolted off to her family's place to spend the day. In response to the wife unit's equally bummed out post of a couple of days ago, her pack mate (best friend since puppyhood) and his husband sent us a box with all sorts of canned goodies and sweets that they had made to perk up the holidays as well; so we have had unspeakably good food around here. How cool is that?
Xmas day the wife unit's presence was not required at either of her jobs, so we got to sit around in flannel pants and watch a horrifically long Law and Order marathon on TV. The dog unit was thrilled, stuffed between us on the couch getting all the pack lurve she could stand.
It snowed for a little while, but was actually warm enough so that when you step outside, nothing froze immediately. It switched to rain later on in the evening, which proved to indicate the warming trend wasn't just a mid afternoon fluke.
I also finally gave in after MUCH thought, and took out the labret and earring. (Sorry Raven!)
It seems very strange, especially with the labret gone. You have no idea how much you tinker with a labret until it's gone. I keep playing around with the inside of my lip and the nothingness there catches me off guard every time.
Weird.
